Digital Ethical Fallacy: Organization

Digital obfuscation involves using deceptive measures to confuse or mislead users. This can include hiding fine print, using misleading visuals, or employing complex jargon. These tactics are often employed to push users into making decisions that benefit the company rather than the user. For example, altering the spelling of a word to evade data filters or leading users to believe a product is a certain price until the final checkout. Such practices undermine user trust and can lead to significant backlash if users feel they have been deceived. As designers, we must strive for transparency and clarity, ensuring users can make informed decisions without manipulation. Implementing clear, straightforward language and providing all necessary information upfront can help build trust and enhance user experience
