Wood Thrush

#Feathruary Day 18: (song) Wood Thrush. The wood thrush has a beautiful and melodic song that always seems to echo and reverberate throughout the forest as do the songs of many of their relatives in the thrush family. Their song reminds me of college and of one of the first bird banding projects I volunteered on. Even if it was only for a few days, I fell in love with learning about birds. In the study they caught and released wood thrushes to see if they were transporting ticks, that would be taken off the birds and tested for Lyme disease.
