Ammer Handwriting
Austrian Cartoonist Wolfgang Ammer lent his handwriting to create this font produced by the team at Schriftlabor. Wolfgang uses the font in his daily routine: It facilitates corrections and translations of his cartoons for international newspapers.
It is a script typeface that includes rich in contextual alternates. Ammer contains about 1800 glyphs, and each character has multiple alternative shapes.
We wrote a complex OpenType substitution feature that makes sure that the same variant does not appear twice in a line. It has a lot of character and shows a fast and spontaneous feeling to it.
