IBM Community Radio - Badge

IBM Radio is a small but awesome part of the IBM Design community – it's on our intranet, so you can only access it from INSIDE, which feels kind of secretive and pirate radio-y. IBM Designers are starting weekly shows on it, DJing from our personal music collections to share music we love as well as design and dev knowledge with one another.

This particular badge is made in the spirit of old radio dials, which were seriously beautiful pieces of typography and illustration (see some good examples on a Pinterest board at https://www.pinterest.com/thundernixon/radio-badges/).

The monogram up top takes after one of the original logos of IBM, from when it was still International Time Recorders Corp. The script (as in my last dribbble shot) takes after the handwritten scripts of Paul Rand. The globe reflects of international-ness, as do the city abbreviations of where we have design studios. Finally, the crytic numbers represent the actually IP address of the site, which is what shows up when you're on this intranet site.
