Hammerhead Beetle

A part of my "Exotic Pompeii Collection" a series of made up insect illustrations.

Hammerhead Beetle
Sphyrna Mokarran
Rarity: Uncommon

The Hammerhead Beetle’s unique head shape was an adaptation built as a weapon and instrument of a dominant mating ritual. Hammerhead Beetles knock their heads against small rocks to create reverberations to attract mates.
