Okote brand

"This is a practice for developing a naming for the region. The name originates from the Chorti word 'okotepek,' which is shortened to 'okote.' In spanish, this is written as 'ocote.' Ocote is a generic name for various species of American pine, aromatic and resinous, native from Mexico to Nicaragua, measuring 15 to 25 meters in height."

"From this word arises the name of the department of Ocotepeque in Honduras, located in the western part of the country, right between the borders of Guatemala and El Salvador.

Okotepek means 'on the hill of the ocotes.'
