What prevents YouTube from doing these kinds of delightful interaction design?
Now that browser support for View Transitions API are upon us. Plus many animation libraries supporting the web such as Rive, Lottie and the excellent Framer Motion.
I just often wonder, what prevents the companies as big as Google in making web apps that is as polished and as delightful as a native app?
Clearly the tech is now out there. We just gotta build it
Originally, this is how YouTube’s sidebar behaves in real life.
Just look how janky and jittery that looks.
What if Web apps have more personality in it?
What if we strive to build quality web experiences and pushes it closer to a native apps?
