Weekly Summary email

Since not all Cushion users freelance full-time, I've been seeing an unfortunately high churn rate. I've followed up with users who cancel and the majority of them have nothing against the product—they simply don't have any freelance gigs at the time. I can't do anything to fix this, but for the remaining users who cancel, I can focus on features that help with retention.

The first feature is a weekly summary email. It breaks down mainly income for the past week, including outstanding invoices. The email also includes a list of active projects, in case the user needs to mark any of these projects as completed. To make it as easy as possible for the user to return to Cushion, I included a sign in button.

In case the user hasn't fully discovered the app or they haven't signed in recently, I attached a "Pro Tip" section at the bottom that will randomly cycle new and useful features.

From here, I plan to expand the feature to cover monthly, quarterly, and yearly emails. Each one will display different information relevant to the timespan, like “highest paying client” for the yearly summary. I think these will help to consistently and effortlessly keep the user up-to-date with their freelancing.
