Game UI UX Design for Tablet

Hi Dribbble,

I want to reveal you the result of my several weeks work on the UI/UX for Gaming ELVR course. For my project, I chose a strategy game for beginners. The game is designed for a tablet and is seted in the world of the Comics Institute of the New Science by Mikołaj Stryczyński. Paris, 2150. You work - you live; you do not work - you are a Parasite and you are liquidated. Controller Pascal - a member of a special unit hunting the unemployed - is tasked with tracking down the person who kills the Controllers' targets in front of them, rendering them useless. Pascal's investigation gets complicated when leads lead him to the legendary de La Hire family.

As a player, we take on the role of a Controller and look for parasites around the city.

Let guide you through my design process of this project.

Flowchart

The first step is a schema of screens. My main goal was to make the slight and clear flow. Before I started this process, I had researched how the flow of screens are designed in some games. I noticed the main screenes, similarities between them. Then I planned how it will look like in the Controller game.

Moodboard

The game style is based on the neo noir atmosphere. I took inspiration from games such as Invisible and Disco Elypsum. I wanted the game's environment to be in the climat of a mysterious, night city with sintetic neon light. I decided to use the colors that appear in the Controller comic episode.

Low-FI

Next I designed a plain low-fi Player Profile’s screen. Ar first, I imaged what Controller character needs to have like equipment, skills and main the memories of parasites. Then I grouped them into simple rectagles of the sections and I added on the screen. Lastly in this step, I inserted the details for each section to have a good background for designing mock up.

Prototype

When I was designing low-ci mock up, I prepered the prototype how interacts will look like between screens. It was a very interesting experience because I didn't have much practice with prototyping. I wanted the interactions to be of medium length and smooth for the gamer's eye.

Final Mockup

The last step was to mock up player profile. Based on moodboard, I focused on neo noir style and color pallete from Comic Book. I addded portrait of Pascal from Episode of Controller.
