Emlak Senin, Realtors Panel

1.About the project

Emlak Senin, Property Finder Service was an innovative and efficient digital solution for property seekers in Turkey that would connect property seekers with realtors across turkey, in beta version emlak senin wanted to use the panel with its own agents across turkey to test the product, with the website already established (designed by me) the requirement forms which was filled by the property seekers needed to be dispatched between realtor, thus a panel was needed for them.]

Result was a mobile friendly panel that would show requests to agents and some functionalities for them to navigate through these requests and also a gateway to acquire membership of the panel.

2.Challenges

User research on 24 participants that have already used similar panels and platforms highlighted some pain points.

One being that that users found sign-up processes in platforms time consuming yet on the business part there were concerns about users data base.

Secondly, cluttered interfaces made users leave and not use their panels quite often, they would express that many information shared with them was not “quite useful”.

Thirdly, they revealed that in the similar platforms there was no “smart suggestion” for them, some explained that they would use a similar platform and since not all requested matched their work preference they had to do repetitive “filters” each time.

and at last they would express that they were a busy bunch of people, often they would get calls in the middle of work and had to leave what they had to do so they could lose some interesting opportunities; also upon presentation of a platform that agents would bid un seeker’s requests, there were resistant and agents expressed that they would not contact a client whom they knew they couldn’t provide service for.

3.Process and Solution

After conducting user research and highlighting some pain points, initiative design process started with drawing a simple information architecture for the product, and hi-fi wireframes were drawn with the help of Material3 in order to come up with possible solution to address pain points we had in mind.

After some dwelling on the wireframes and meetings with the business team, came the interface design faze, with an already established adapted material3 design system that would ensure integration between the website and product we moved on to interface design faze.

Easy authentication & prize for data giving users

in order for the users to have a smooth login/signup process we decided to use an OTP method for authentication process yet the business team needed to have a filed database of their users, so we would give out free credit for those users who would fill up their personally information after they have entered their panel

Minimal Interface with simple cognitive load

to ensure an uncluttered interface, usage of colors was reduced to minimum and in those places that users might get a lot of data we ensured to have a seamless design with the help of good hierarchy design for easier eye scan

Quick filter, low cost feature for personalization

Agents expressed frustration upon using filter function over and over each time they would use their platform, so with the consultation with tech team and conducting meeting with the business team, solutions were drawn such as using AI, yet restriction prevented us to develop such solution; so i came up with a function of “Quick filter” which enabled users to save their filter inputs by a name and use it for later; on the other hand users could set a default city for themselves so that only requests from the same city would appear on their panel.-

4.Results

After prototyping the final results i conducted usability tests on 4 available users, some changes was made to filter section and the final results were hand off to development team for further process.

working on a project in real estate industry was quite interesting for me personally and business restriction on this one made me work on possible solutions though i had more ideas for this project, restrictions made me choose other ways. i hope to have a second chance to make this one better and more interesting as i think it has a lot of potential.

Rrespectfully the website design was a project of mine as well. this project development and ownership is in its business team hands and further processes are not to my notion
