Seamless Repeat Pattern 90

I have started learning about using textures in patterns. So patterns including texture published is a given. In this pattern, I have turned the texture itself into motif. A happy accident. I was actually trying to figure out using the texture layer as background layer. After all the transformation, it doesn’t look like the texture derived from a ‘Cement wall texture’. After trying several swatches, I have chosen 2 versions for upload. 2nd version will be in the next post.

I am calling it a multitasking/kaleidoscopic pattern – it’s geometric, checkerboard vibe, square like, at the same time diagonal, on top of all the grid madness, the rusty cement wall texture. Every time you see it, you can see it in a different way. Although I started exploring textures to use as layer for layered patterns and using sparingly into motifs (if required by the pattern), this kind of texture pattern itself – I am kind of growing on it!!

I kinda dreaded textures. Seeing all the amazing works done by the artists I admire – super pro at handling textures (at least compared to beginner like me). Happy to report - the decoding process has lessened the dread intensity. Looking forward to create more crazy texture patterns!
