Mountainsize Audio website

It's about time I made a logo & website for my studio!

Mountainsize Audio logo

The logo is both a mountain range and an M. The name is a riff on a band I like named Oceansize, but I live in Asheville with the Blue Ridge Mountains always in view so I opted to call it Mountainsize. The colors are also inspired by the colors of the Blue Ridge at sunset.

The typeface used is Gibson, which is both a nice geometric sans serif and the name the company that makes my favorite guitar. I'm a Les Paul guy, I can't help it.

The website is pretty straightforward, just a home page (shown), services/pricing page, and contact page. The most tricky part to execute was the custom audio player UI built on top of the native HTML audio element.

Because I wanted to make sure the music didn't stop when navigating from one page to another, I opted to build the site as a SPA. I used Svelte (SvelteKit) for this and development was pretty painless. I spend so much time working on React projects that it's nice to see what the alternatives do better/differently.
