Enchantress Comic Book

Enchantress is an evil witch that is regarded as a DC anti-hero.

I started by mood boarding to establish who she is, and what

a custom typeface would look like for her.

I sketched some layouts and cover art ideas. I made sure to keep in mind all of the assets that would be included in this project.

I explored ancient fonts that parallel her origin story. I treated every letter differently and explored how far I can push it. This was challenging as any misstep can make it unreadable.

I then chose my sketch and went to work in Adobe Illustrator.

Once I finalized her custom typeface, I printed it out and stuck tape to it.

This was the end result.

I then vectorized it in Adobe Illustrator.

Crazy ramblings pattern

I assembled the illustrations and assets in Adobe InDesign to complete my comic book mockup.

The front and back cover have upside down elements to emulate how wayward this character is.

She's an ancient being that breaks the rules, so I strayed away from the traditional comic book look.
