Town of sculpture is an art project which started with the exhibition of ten contemporary Croatian sculptors and ended with the creation of the exhibition catalogue.

The aim of the project “Town of Sculpture” is to display different contemporary approaches to public sculpture in Croatia in public space and to encourage a direct communication with citizens.

The exhibition displayed on the occasion of the XVI Days of Strossmayer is a preliminary presentation of the authorial sculptures created by the artists who have already created works for exterior spaces, which in the end does not mean that those works and the sculptors present at this exhibition will be given a chance to display the same works.

The intention of the art development of the town of Đakovo is directed towards contemporary artistic practices that will live in coexistence with the existing town sights and heritage.
