Crypto mobile app design

About

Go Transfer is a cryptocurrency and blockchain startup working on an innovative platform for feedback and verification of crypto address information

Fraud is the main issue the app solves: the world of cryptocurrencies faces risks of hacking and theft. The target audience encounters security issues when using digital wallets, exchange platforms and other cryptocurrency services. Forgeries, phishing attacks and fraudulent projects can also be a source of harm

Project tasks

  1. Engaging with analytics, ux/ui reviews, competitor research

  2. Branding creation (logo, corporate identity)

  3. Animation creation (Adobe After Effects, Lottie)

  4. Designing icons and screenshots for App Store and Google Play

  5. Conducting design-reviews with front end developers pre-release after delivering layouts and their implementation

  6. Defining the app structure, including navigation, content hierarchy, and organizing in-app information to ensure an intuitive user experience

  7. Minimizing the number of steps in the subscription process

  8. Enabling various types of subscriptions to be set up and paid for in a single step

Challenges faced

Target audience's possible lack of education and insight: Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology can be complex to navigate. Target audiences may have trouble figuring out the basic principles of cryptocurrencies, wallet security, choosing the right exchange, and other technical aspects

Drafting a substantial specification, taking into account all related requirements and tasks

Lack of competition, as the concept of the application is the unique one on the market so far

Solutions

  1. Creating educational materials: I developed straightforward and simple guides explaining the basic principles of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, which would help the audience to grasp the terminology and key concepts

  2. Market research: I analyzed the cryptocurrency and blockchain market to determine why other companies or developers have not yet offered a similar solution. I identified some websites with a similar functionality (in terms of requesting information). Worked with the team to identify unique benefits and features of the app for its differentiation

  3. Community support: Through the developed UX it is possible to actively engage with the community and collect feedback from users to continuously improve the app and create value for the target audience

  4. Voluminous Terms of Reference: I managed to establish clear communication with other members of the development team. Held regular calls where we could discuss progress, address emerging issues and complete the terms of reference based on management feedback and evolving requirements
