Oh My Dog! - Dog Walking App

This is the first project of my career as a Product Designer, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every step of its development. Because I believe that feedback is a valuable gift, I actively solicited feedback at each level of the project. And I improved myself and my project as a result of feedback.

What is the problem?

Let’s define it!

The problem is that dog owners often struggle to find trustworthy dog walkers, leading to a lack of trust in the process.

What is the goal of this project?

Building trust and ensure a safe experience.

I aim to provide a trusted solution for dog owners and establish ourselves as their best option.

Research

User Research

Understanding the user was the first step of the project. I did online survey and face-to-face interviews with dog owners. You can see the details and the results of the researches:

Market Research

In addition to user research, I conducted a market analysis to gain insights into existing applications used by users. This research helped identify trends and competitive landscape.

User Personas

Ideation

I needed to create a trustworthy application, as building trust was highlighted in the results of my user research.

Strategy

To put these features into action, I devised a strategy and divided it into four phases based on the needs of the people.

User Flow

There wasn’t a “checking application without sign up” option at the first user flow I created. Then again I had face-to-face interviews and asked the owners if it is necessary for them and I got the point. Then I update my user flow as below:

Low Fidelity Wireframe - High Fidelity Wireframe

Mood Board

In my mood board, dark blue represents evening or night, and orange represents early in the morning.
Because I know that these times are crucial for dog owners, as dogs consider both day and night as playtime.

Visiting App Without Sign Up Flow

I aimed to demonstrate how users can explore the application without the need to sign up. The goal was to showcase the features of the application. While users can see the available features, they are required to sign up in order to access detailed functionalities, such as booking a walking session, visiting dog walker profiles, and checking the live map, which provides warnings specific to their area.

Creating Account Flow

I wanted to demonstrate how dog owner can create a profile and how adds their dog profile. Test it here!

Booking Flow

I wanted to demonstrate that dog owners can search for dog walkers in their neighborhood using the map feature. Additionally, when they want to view a dog walker's profile, they can access information, reviews, and certificates that the dog walker has obtained from the OMD Online Training Program. This program is an online training specifically designed for this application, aiming to build trust among dog walkers and dog owners.

Tracking and Receiving Summary of the Walking Flow

I wanted to demonstrate how dog owners can track their dogs. The dog owner receives a notification from the dog walker, and if they wish to do so, they can access the tracking link through their message box. Additionally, during the walk, there will be a "Track Your Dog" button available on the home page. Furthermore, after the walk is completed, the dog owner receives another message from the dog walker. In that message, they can view a summary of the walking session. Moreover, I also intended to showcase how the dog walker can send videos and photos to the dog owner during the walk.
