Dnevnik.hr is a Croatian multimedia platform and news site run by Nova TV, Croatia's first commercial TV broadcaster. Our task was to create a mobile-first design that’s sleek, intuitive, and can engage readers' attention without losing sight of the content.

Workshop with the client

As a part of the Discovery workshop for the site redesign, we prepared various tasks for the client’s team and ourselves to tackle together. The workshop was all about figuring out the essential features and deciding on the design direction. We led our clients through a structured process to gain valuable insights into their goals and preferences, serving as a cornerstone for the redesign project.

Before proceeding to our next step, we laid out the whole plan to the client so they understand the process and the milestones.

As on the previous project, redesigning a lifestyle news portal Showbuzz, working with the exceptional Nova TV team was an absolute blast, from the Discovery workshop to the final UI!

Wireframes

After confirming the information architecture, wireframes are a crucial step to set out and define the rest of the design scope. We did wireframes for all the main pages for mobile and desktop resolutions.

User Interface

After receiving the green light for the wireframes and mood boards, we moved on to the next phase - the User Interface. During this stage, each page was created for required resolutions, paying attention to every intricate detail while incorporating the necessary adjustments for an impeccable user experience.

To set Dnevnik.hr apart from the competition, we've added new features, including specialized topics, a breaking news section, and eye-catching design elements, resulting in a complete makeover of the media platform.

Through collaborative efforts with the client’s team on Figma, we successfully crafted a UI that resonated with everyone involved, which is often a really good sign we are moving in the right direction.

Stylesheet and guidelines

The UI phase is concluded with the development handoff and stylesheet. We prepared stylesheet and guidelines to speed up the client’s development team workflow.

However, our work didn’t end there as we oversaw the implementation to ensure all elements were being applied optimally.

Redesign results

In metrics, since the redesign, the client saw a 22% increase in page views! This makes me feel proud and excited, knowing we did a great job and end users enjoy their time on the site. Working on this project was an absolute pleasure, and I am happy to be given the opportunity to work with amazing clients such as Nova TV. Their team was ready to answer questions, constantly giving feedback and being supportive throughout the project.
