For this year's 36 Days of Type, my goal was crystal clear - to explore the fascinating realm where form and visual effects intersect. Until now, the concept of tridimensionality remained a mystery, a skill I eagerly wanted to master.

One valuable insight I gained from this experience is that once I developed a clear vision for the letterforms and honed my technical skills, my sketching process underwent a significant transformation. Previously, I would create a detailed sketch and plan the effects after vectorization. However, my current approach (as shown in the sketch of letter A) embraces a different rhythm. The initial sketch, intentionally loose and imperfect, serves as a guide for the letter's potential appearance. Now, instead of form dictating the effect, it is the effect that shapes the form.

Digital lettering is a powerful vehicle for storytelling. It unleashes the monstrous potential to captivate and engage audiences like never before.
