A Mobile Moonshot for NFTs

Carefully Curated, Acceptably Addictive

The Moon mobile app is a concept that seeks to bring the latest and most innovative NFTs within easy reach.

As I began my moodboards and visual explorations, I quickly realized I was treading over some of the same ground as past UI students had - which meant a good chunk of the readily-available inspiration amounted to examples of the very project I was tasked with. While it wasn't an issue of good inspiration, I felt convicted to do my best to avoid regurgitating the same looks as my predecessors to hopefully contribute a new approach for end users to engage with.

So then what?

I turned my attention to the world of NFTs itself to take visual cues. Add in some pops of inspiration from a few other visually driven ecommerce and audio apps, and I felt like I had some ideas to run with - leading to two themes.

After some visual exploration and peer input, I landed on Theme #2, feeling the darker look and assertive accents lent themselves more to what end-users would expect from a NFT marketplace.

To scale the design, I chose to feature the work of LA-based artist Ali Hawood, specifically his Sneakerheads collection.

I also developed a design system featuring a color palette based on purple and green, along with a typography pairing of Inter & Inconsolata to provide both a clean, and tech-driven aesthetic.
