Oakland Oaks

A new addition to the NBC, the Oakland Oaks! This is a reboot of the defunct ABA team, which went from worst to first thanks to the addition of NBA star Rick Barry and won the 1969 ABA championship. For this logo I wanted to play off some of the vintage basketball logos which often featured a cartoon mascot dribbling, shooting, or spinning a ball on their finger. However I did not see any depictions of defense, so I decided to put the acorn in a defensive stance.
