Scorpio

According to Greek mythology, Scorpio was created by Apollo, the god of the animal herds, and Gaia, the great earth goddess. Scorpio’s sole purpose was to hunt the great hunter, Orion.

Orion, the harbinger of mass extinction, boasted about hunting down every last living creature on earth. Sustainability and preservation weren’t the first thing on his mind. You can understand how this may have irked those gods responsible for the well being of every living creature. It was time to fight fire with fire.

Apollo and Gaia’s solution: create a gigantic arthropod to chase and kill Orion. The E.P.A. enforces their regulations somewhat differently today.

Orion fled from Scorpio and was either killed by Scorpio, or shot by Artemis by accident. Zeus put them both in the heavens, but far enough apart so they wouldn’t fight each other in the skies. Imagine how awesome that epic eternal battle could have been. Thanks, Zeus.

On another note, any ideas on what I should do with these illustrations? Posters? Desktop calendars? Apparel?
