Shahnameh Hand Drawn Illustration
Hi Guys!
This is my hand-drawn illustration project about the Seven Labors of Rustam (Persian:هفت خان رستم) were a series of acts carried out by the greatest of the Iranian heroes, Rustam, The story was retold by Ferdowsi in his epic poem, Shahnameh. The Seven Labours were seven difficult tasks undertaken by Rostam, accompanied, in most instances, only by his faithful and sagacious steed Rakhsh.
To create this artwork, I inspired by the 'Coffee House' Iranian painting method. it's narrative painting style with epical, religious and festive themes from the early 1900s on the basis of Iranian folklore art traditions. It is a special genre of Persian folk art. I demonstrate all of the story incidents in one scene.
I've also made the book from this project in which reader can follow the story in pages with individual illustrations.
This is acrylic paint on canvas, the actual size of 200x150 cm.
