Interactive Floorplan for Hospital Group
A hospital Group assigns us with the design and realization of an interactive floorplan.
Problem
The web application for visitor orientation must meet the following objectives: digitization, implementing the new corporate design, and reduction contacts at the reception.
Process
After interviewing the stakeholders of the hospital group about their needs, we analyse the organisation, the users, the requirements, the technical infrastructure and the existing material.
In the next step, we define the information architecture, functionalities, technical specifications and content strategy.
Based on all this preliminary work, I create the design concept.
Define
Multiple search functionality is the key element. I go for an intelligent text search by room number, filter, and links to service points.
For reasons of data security, there’s no search by patients. The hygiene concept is a task for the hospital.
Design
The query result is a plan that shows the route from the visitor (starting point) to his chosen destination (endpoint). Likewise, the route can also be read as text.
I redesign and simplify the plans in Adobe Illustrator and export them to the web-compatible vector format SVG.
