Animal Passage Permit and Control System (APPCS)

This design project I worked on focuses on creating a comprehensive animal permit app that streamlines the process of allowing animals to cross between counties and states in Kenya.

The app will be piloted in Nandi County and it will allow farmers to enter animal types being transported, mode of transport used, the headcount of animals, signature of approval appended by a certified veterinary officer who will issue the permit application, dates, whereto, health, purpose among other details.

The app seeks to eliminate the cumbersome and time-consuming paperwork that is currently required for this process. The app will provide an intuitive and user-friendly interface that allows pet owners, farmers, and animal transport companies to apply for permits quickly and easily. The app will also include a database of all the relevant regulations for each county and state, so that users can easily determine the requirements for their specific situation. The permit application process will be automated, reducing the time required to complete the process and reducing the risk of errors. Once a permit is approved, users will be able to access their permit electronically, reducing the need to carry around physical copies of the permit. With this app, pet owners, farmers, and animal transport companies will be able to focus on what they do best, caring for and transporting their animals, while the app handles the administrative tasks associated with permit acquisition.
