The secret place of the monastery

A long time ago, the monks produced wine for holy worship in the medieval age. In 1309, the Pope moved the Curia to Avignon due to a political conflict between the French kingdoms which is well known as the "Avignon Papacy." Monks cultivated vineyards there and one of the most famous appellations is "Chateauneuf-Du-Pape."

Obviously, there were no glass bottles then, and the monks might preserve wine, unlike the shot I created but I wanted to try to make somewhere mysterious, the veiled place that only selected people could visit. There might be very special wines only for higher rank monks and they might enjoy them secretly as an excuse of keeping their holy spirit. :) - whether it is for the worship or for themselves.

What's your favorite wine history?
