Mecca Cosmetica Rainbow Collection

I am a fan of Mecca Cosmetica and wanted to see showcase my vision for Mecca and how my intuition and artwork would look on their products and their stores. I wanted to also showcase my layout skills to an existing brand and see what my current style of illustration would look on packaging, signage and in product shots.

THE IDEA BEHIND THE CONCEPT

The reason I created the Rainbow collection was in an application for Mecca Cosmetica as a designer. At the time, they were looking for a Packaging and Illustration Designer and were looking for someone to make their existing brand stand out. My approach was to look at old packaging and then see what Mecca would want on their campaign’s, packaging, displays and marketing. When I finished research I came to the conclusion that the company had artists featured in their packaging that had rainbow, textured or digitally disorted work. After the hours of research I went the store in Melbourne Central, photographed the display’s and edited my rainbow artwork onto their displays, campaigns and packaging to showcase my understanding of their company and how my vision would look on their branding.
