Fanaxy

Fanaxy is a three-day anime convention in Los Angeles that starts at midnight.  Its striving to be an all-ages convention for both families and the late-night scene of nerds, cosplayers and fans of anime.

objective

To create an anime con that stands out from the boom of conventions being started up now.  I wanted it to both be different in its premise, being a night convention, and its design.  I also firmly wanted there to be a mascot, as well as several assets that could be used cohesively.

solution

I made a friendly mascot with trendy colors, and focused on a clean, minimalistic design to bring out the illustration.  The cool color palette with pops of mint evoke feelings of nightlife, as well as standing out from the standard pop art colors of other conventions.
