Cedars-Sinai - Bladder Cancer Breakthroughs

I was commissioned by Cedars-Sinai to illustrate an article about breakthroughs in bladder cancer treatment. Innovations in surgical and laboratory work are reducing the risk of recurrence.

Patients with early-stage disease now have the option of a procedure called en bloc resection, that allows surgeons to remove the tumor in one piece. Meanwhile, for the 25% of patients whose malignancies invade the bladder-wall muscles - increasing the danger of metastasis - Cedars-Sinai investigators have developed a means of predicting how bladder cancers respond to certain therapies.

A big thanks to AD Robert Parsons for this project.
