AMEA logo redesign

Working on the rebrand for the Association of Middle East Anthropology, or, AMEA. They didn't have much a brand to begin with, but the biggest obstacle is that modernism is met with a lot of resistance in anthropology for being too Euro-centric and alienating of the Global South.

I wanted to avoid typical kerning with these letters and not try too hard to be clever. However, I did want a smooth visual flow of combined elements that resulted in a memorable artifact that can be quickly drawn with fewer than three strokes.

The top wordmark is looking like to be the final form. Once approved, I'll look into variants of including the full association and/or any taglines they may request.
