The Texas State Print

THE TEXAS STATE PRINT

After the success of our Cowboy Toile print, we decided to revisit the state of Texas for design inspiration. We wanted to explore symbols of the state again, but this time without our signature toile de Jouy style.

We have always been inspired by vintage botanical prints and wanted to see if we could create a location-specific print in that style. The first step was pulling out a list of official state symbols and deciding which ones would work well in a print.

We came up with the Blue Bonnet, the official state flower; the Prickly Pear Cactus, the official state plant; the Northern Mocking Bird, the official state bird; and the Monarch Butterfly, the official state insect. We designed the print artwork with layered hand-drawn illustrations depicting our motifs.

The Texas State Print will be the third in our State Symbols Collection. Other designs include the South Carolina Print and the California Print. The Texas Print will be available to license via Patternbank. We have additional prints available to license on Patternbank and on Creative Market.
