Streamlining Rotor's Mobile Experience

One of my early tasks at Rotor was to use my experience with mobile design to improve the music video creation process on smaller screens with the aim of increasing the mobile conversion rate.

I ran through the existing experience using my own mobile devices to create an audit of UX issues. I used this as a discussion-starter with my team to gather more insights, including a list of common issues received by our support team. I wrote up issues and possible solutions into tickets and categorised these into bugs, quick wins, priority 1+2 and park for now. Some issues required design input, whilst others could be handled by our front-end developer.

Over the following months we were able to tackle the majority of these issues between feature work while monitoring the impact of our changes using FullStory and Google Analytics, making tweaks along the way to streamline the video creation process.
