Jayson Tatum | Basketball Card Design

Creating a card art for Jayson Tatum has been my biggest struggle over the last year. I've tried multiple times to make something that does a player of his excellence proper justice and always just end up sending them to the scrap heap. Perhaps some of that is my own eagerness to just jump in and get something done of one of my favorite basketball players, instead of planning this piece out as much as I should have. After investing the time to flesh out a concept I thought would work well, I went to work putting together this Parquet Power autograph concept. It features very Celtics-heavy inspiration, including the clovers and a parquet floor, as well as a great image of Tatum "powering" over LeBron James for a dunk.
