Gadang's House from Minangkabau

This traditional house has a unique architectural form with a pointed roof top that resembles a buffalo horn and was previously made of palm fiber which can last for decades, but recently the roof of this house has been replaced with a tin roof.

The Gadang House is made in the shape of a rectangle and is divided into two parts, the front and the back. The front of the Gadang House is usually full of ornamental carvings and is generally patterned with roots, flowers, leaves and rectangular and parallel fields. While the outside of the back is lined with bamboo splits.
