excellence

Started with the word as typeset font. Sifted styles and weights. Kerned for whitespace and then created outlines. Emptied the fill and added stroke to the inside, enough to basically divide the area of a given letter into thirds, lengthwise. From here it's stretch, nudge and cut until something nice arrives. The letter 'N' had to be recreated. The diagonal of the original wasn't playing nice. The letter 'X' supplied the most difficulty. Overall, a fun exercise using Adobe Illustrator. The font was Gotham Black.
