Clara Zetkin | Series "Portraits of women"

My series of portraits of women: Clara Zetkin (1857-1933), German Marxist teacher, journalist and politician, historical figure of socialist feminism. In 1910, during the 2nd International Conference of Socialist Women in Copenhagen, she initiated the International Women's Rights Day, supported by the Russian Alexandra Kollontai (a socialist, communist politician and Soviet feminist activist. She is the first woman in contemporary history to have been a member of a government), following the demonstrations by women workers in the United States in 1908 and 1909. The first day of struggle for women's right to vote and gender equality took place on March 19, 1911 (on March 8, 1914, women demanded the right to vote in Germany and they won it on November 12, 1918).
