Rice vector process (WIP)

Since I started doing handlettering (it's been 8 months now, gosh, times flies!) I've always found vectorizing as the hardest step. The little secret tricks behind the perfection of a curve weren't widespread over the Internet until recently with Sean McCabe's Learn Lettering courses or Dave Coleman's article about Horizontal & Vertical Bezier Handles (Dribbble shot here). After reading it I decided to give it a try: let's vectorize with ONLY horizontals and verticals, make as few handles as I can and see how it renders.

The result speaks for itself: working with only horizontal and vertical handles is not only the best way to achieve smooth curves, but is also an incredible time saver. Less headaches, more reflex and building your natural handletterer instinct.
