Typeface Design: Orienty

Orienty is a typeface originally inspired by traditional Chinese characters, which is also intended to be used as an English complement to those Chinese fonts which has a hand-written style. In this case, some strokes of the font were borrowed from Chinese calligraphy as well as modern fonts. During the development of the font, I also referred to Auriol font, seeking solutions of breaks and curves happen in English characters.

The name “Orienty” derived from the word “oriental” ( which reflects the style the font has), and “ty”( which has the same pronunciation as “font” in Chinese), meaning the font from the orient.
The best purpose to use for this font are titles, branding, or as a complement to Chinese content.
