The Poppy and the spinning wheel

The book "The poppy & the spinning wheel" is a folklore autobiography that describes the author's childhood and at the same time gives us information about the place she grew up. The title combines a very popular flower of the Greek springtime, the poppy and the spinning wheel, referring to a well-known greek phrase "red thread tied and wrapped to the spinning wheel" very similar to the opening fairy tale phrase "once upon a time" which gives the "hue" of a child story just like the writer's memories. That's why we combined these two elements and came up with a minimal and linear design, with the central flower differing in colour and movement from the rest such as the memories of each one of us.
