One Year Anniversary

I think we can all agree that 2020 has been an interesting, wildly unexpected year for so many reasons. Despite everything, it’s been a really special one for me as it was my first year as a full time freelancer. I’ve spent a year collaborating with amazing people, cherishing routine things like trips to the post office or grocery store to get me out of the house, and being in total control of my own schedule (and office music!). I am not going to claim that I have suddenly learned the secret to running a business or have figured everything out, but I will say that I have so loved getting to work directly with amazing clients to bring their ideas to life. It’s been a year of drawing dogs, plants, and people, making merchandise, designing presentations, and fleshing out corporate brands. And I have truly loved it all. Chasing your dreams is scary. Deciding to leave the comfort of your salaried job to fend for yourself in the wilderness of the business world is terrifying! It feels like life goes from being a series of multiple choice questions to essay ones. But chasing your dreams is also beautiful. I’ve learned to ride the waves of freelance life, taking the certain moments while I can, and weathering out the uncertain ones. I think it’s okay to not know everything, and much more important that you stay eager and willing to learn. So thank you for one year of support. I so appreciate each and every one of you. Here’s to another wild ride in year two!
