Student of History Monograph

Student of History was conceived as a way to combine my studies in graphic design and history. By typesetting a choice selection of writings from my history studies, the book highlights my analytically capabilities whilst showcasing my publication design skills.

While the cover features an original contour illustration, the book contents are entirely typographic. As a result, the focus of the design is on typographic hierarchy to ensure details—chapter titles, folios, notes, etc.—can be differentiated and read with ease.

The book includes a table of contents and index for easy discovery of topics. Footnotes ensure individual chapters can be read with additional details in context—a preference of academics who dislike flipping to the back of a volume to reference end notes.
