Audio-Technica - Logo design, branding, brand identity

I just bought one of the Audio-Technica products a few days ago, a headphone. I saw their logo which is very cool and simple, i think it really represents themselves.

But then i was challenged to design my own version of the logo for Audio-Technica. Redesigned their logo. I don't know if my version looks better or worse.
