Welcome Week Campaign

Create a theme and campaign to promote the Fall 2020 semester Welcome Week, which is for new and returning students. It is a series of social events meant to create community at the college. The theme was an acronym called SPARK and meant to be motivational and inspiring during the dark time of the pandemic.

The theme of SPARK made me immediately think of a rocket ship. I decided to use a fun, playful 1950s/1960s space race concept to create vintage illustrations around the theme. I used common illustration styles from that era as well as a mid-century modern color palette. I chose my typography based on the style of Russian space race posters from the 60s.
