Revamping a complex web application to change the way users perceive it

/CONTEXT

Apvera is an application that allows employers to identify employees’ behavioural patterns and reveal anomalous insider threat in real-time and takes immediate action to prevent data loss.

/CHALLENGES

The company was looking for a UX consulting firm to change the way users perceive the app. As technologies and methodologies advance, Apvera’s platform became more complex and the role of Pixel Tie was to revamp the platform to make it more user-friendly.

/APPROACH

Our job started with a competition analysis to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their current platform within the cybersecurity industry.

Next, we gathered information to put together a plan for the platform. This is the point where the site map was developed. This served us as a guide as to what content will be on the platform and was essential to develop a consistent, easy to understand navigational system.

The system involves a myriad of user tasks and our main focus was to make them valuable, pleasant and efficient for the users. So we reviewed each component in order to improve their usability and accessibility.
