Introducing: A design new Gemini

Today we are excited to announce our first complete redesign of Project Gemini.

The ultimate goal of virology as a science is to create a single platform that describes all viruses in detail. That’s what we strive for.

If we take a step back and expand our vision of virology, it is easy to notice that for biosafety, research and technology, data storage plays an important role.

Project Gemini is a self-contained, functionally interoperable open platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to process and compare the properties of viruses stored in its own database with elements of third-party APIs. After recent events, we synchronized the functionality of Gemini with subsequent projects, making this platform central, combining a set of all data that differ in access levels from a number of software mechanisms running on the Wiki technology, which allows users to add and edit content to closed database information using the platform only for storing patient records, implementing data in holographic projections, integration from API data into GIS data, etc.

In addition, this platform accelerates the process of searching and comparing species of viruses by their properties and taxonomic position. It displays complete information about the virus, its properties, distribution and so on using third-party APIs (such as ICTV, Visual Science, Description of Plant Viruses, DPV Web, NCBI, Circles, Vaccine Passport).

Thus, we tried to create a solution in the development of a new effective platform that would combine all the necessary tools to compile a complete profile for each species of viruses, for communication of the scientific community and the realization of each scientist’s own potential and ideas. Project Gemini will be the starting point for using virus data in Gemini II (holograms and projections) and Gemini III.

The project is part of Bella for Science.
