Blind Justice

Growing up as a military brat and living overseas, I was always aware of my privilege and freedom as an American. I was taught to behave a specific way to not insult other cultures and disrespect my country. Basically, don’t make yourself a target or draw attention to yourself. Living stateside, I never thought that many Americans live in a similar way in their own country. It breaks my heart. The system is broken, but we can fix it. We all can do something. Give what you can. Speak up. Educate yourself. Together we can achieve true equality.
