Ishtar is a goddess of love and war that originated in the Sumerian civilization. In Sumerian, Ishtar, also known as the goddess Inana and the "Queen of Heaven" the Ishtar worship center is at the Eanna temple in the city of Uruk. Worship of Ishtar in Sumer had begun in the early Uruk period (4000-3100 BC). Based on the evidence found, Ishtar was the earliest goddess in the tradition of powerful goddesses and love in ancient civilizations such as hathor in Egyptian civilization and Aphrodite the goddess of love from ancient Greek civilization.
