Daily Exercise - My Logo Version of the Caduceus
Today's daily exercise: my personal take on the caduceus symbol.
Did you know that the caduceus is erroneously used to represent medicine ? (mostly in the US)
The origin of this ancient symbol is probably older than ancient Greece where it was used to represent the rod of the god Hermes, god of knowledge and wisdom.
The widespread use to represent medics is recent and dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when the US Army used it do represent their Medical Corp.
The correct symbol for medicine is the rod of Asclepius (easy to recognize because there is only one snake, and not two, and no wings).
