H2oai: Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modeling Software
Hi Guys! đź‘‹ I was working recently on an offer to transform a legacy software about integrated catchment modeling from desktop to a cloud web version.
With this software you can model complex hydraulic and hydrologic network elements. The main problem with the existing software is the speed to run such a model. The user has to make a huge investment in GPU, CPU, and workgroup server technology in order to use the software. The legacy software renders the simulation results locally and with an old technique to distribute the simulations across a remote network of licensed machines.
Converting this complex software to a SaaS model gives us the opportunity to use the latest AWS servers to take care of those simulation runs. The user only has to focus on the software and can use finally any simple computer - he just needs the web-browser.
These days SaaS and cloud looks pretty straight forward. However you'll be shocked how many legacy software is still in use and ready to be rewritten! We are happy that we could participate on the first steps on this one! đź’Ş
