Wms Design & Development

About this Service

UITOP designs and develops custom warehouse management software (WMS) for warehouse operators and B2B software teams. We build worker interfaces and supervisor tools that guide warehouse tasks through the required checks and record their completion.

The starting engagement covers one connected process, such as receiving and putaway or order picking and packing. We agree which parts of that process belong in the product, who uses them and how they connect to your existing systems.

When This Service Fits

  • Your warehouse software records stock, but staff coordinate the work through separate messages or spreadsheets.

  • Workers need clearer instructions and confirmation steps for the tasks they perform on the floor.

  • Supervisors need to find unfinished work and review discrepancies before allowing the next action.

  • Your product team needs to add or improve a warehouse workflow in an existing application.

We review your current procedures and software with the people responsible for the operation. That review determines the custom work your product needs.

Warehouse Tasks and Exceptions

For each task, we define the required information, available actions and conditions for completion. A worker may need to verify an item, enter a quantity or confirm a destination. The product must also explain what to do when that check fails.

For example, a receiving workflow may need to handle a delivery of 46 units against an expected 48. We define how the worker records the difference, who reviews it and whether the accepted goods can proceed to placement. Your operating rules determine the receipt status and the effect on stock availability.

The supervisor view follows the same process. It can show blocked tasks, recorded discrepancies and the person responsible for the next action. We define who can correct a record or authorize an exception, including the history those decisions need to preserve.

Interfaces for the Warehouse Floor

Worker screens keep the current task, item and location visible while the user completes an action. We design the interaction for the devices used in your operation, including quantity entry, confirmation feedback and recovery from an incorrect input.

If scanning belongs in the scope, we check the selected devices and code formats before agreeing on implementation. Offline work, label printing and specialized hardware connections need their own requirements and acceptance checks.

Connecting Tasks to Operational Records

We define which system owns the task and related inventory or order records. The implementation follows those rules when a worker confirms an action or a supervisor changes its status.

The interface distinguishes a saved result from a pending or failed update. We also work through repeated submissions, interrupted actions and changes made by another user. The required APIs and database updates form part of the agreed development scope.

Working With Your Existing Product

UITOP can build a new warehouse module or improve a workflow in your current application. We review the codebase, reusable components and release process with your team before planning changes.

Our designers can work directly in your existing prototype, create a functional artifact in Claude or another agreed tool, or prepare Figma files. The format follows your development process. Designers and engineers review the same operational scenarios as the software takes shape.

Relevant UITOP Experience

UITOP designed and developed LogiCore, a logistics and warehouse platform. Our work included an expandable warehouse-location hierarchy, multi-location SKU records and operational reporting, supported by backend queries and APIs.

Product design, project management, engineering and QA contributed to the project.

What You Receive

  • A defined warehouse workflow with user responsibilities and completion rules.

  • UX/UI for worker tasks and the supervisor actions included in the scope.

  • Frontend and backend implementation for that process.

  • The agreed database changes and system connections.

  • Reusable components and source code, with setup documentation.

  • Recorded scenario checks and a handover of remaining dependencies.

Checking the Working Software

We test representative warehouse scenarios with your team. Checks cover the expected task sequence, permitted actions and saved records, alongside the exceptions defined for the process.

Depending on the scope, that includes a quantity mismatch, an incorrect location, a paused task or a confirmation repeated after an interrupted connection. Device-specific interactions need checks on the agreed devices. We confirm deployment and support responsibilities before release.
