Editorial Illustration

About this Service

Custom editorial illustration for articles, magazine features, online editorial content, blog posts, newsletters, reports, opinion pieces, essays, educational content and other informative publications.

I create bold, character-driven editorial artwork with strong composition, expressive linework, vintage poster energy, pop culture influence and a handcrafted graphic style. The objective is to transform a clearly defined topic, article or message into a memorable visual with strong narrative impact.

THIS SERVICE INCLUDES:

  • one finished custom editorial illustration

  • one focused visual concept developed from the approved brief

  • one preliminary composition sketch for approval

  • one consolidated round of revisions at the sketch stage

  • production of the final detailed illustration

  • one consolidated round of minor refinements to the final artwork

  • one high-resolution print-ready file, supplied as a flattened CMYK PSD or TIFF when appropriate

  • PNG/JPG exports for web and preview use

CLIENT BRIEF REQUIRED:

Before work begins, the client must provide:

  • the complete article, text or a detailed written summary

  • the final headline, where applicable, and the key message to communicate

  • the target audience

  • the intended use of the illustration

  • the required dimensions, format and orientation

  • all mandatory subjects, characters, objects or brand elements

  • anything that must not appear in the artwork

  • relevant visual references or brand guidelines, when applicable

  • the requested delivery date, subject to confirmation

Work begins only once the brief has been reviewed and confirmed in writing.

CONCEPT AND APPROVAL:

This service includes the development of one focused visual concept and one composition only. It does not include several alternative concepts, speculative directions or multiple sketches from which to choose.

The preliminary composition must be approved before final production begins. Once approved, the concept, subject, composition, format and overall visual direction are considered locked.

REVISIONS:

Included revisions cover reasonable adjustments within the approved direction, such as minor changes to details, colors, balance or cropping.

Revisions do not include a new concept, a different composition, additional characters or objects, a new artistic style, a change of format, or a complete redrawing of the illustration. Any such request will be treated as additional work and quoted separately.

All feedback must be consolidated into one clear message by one designated decision-maker. Delayed feedback or changes to the original brief may affect the delivery date.

FINAL FILES:

Editable working files, layered source files, alternative versions and vector reconstruction are not included unless specifically agreed and quoted before the project begins.

Preliminary sketches, unused versions and working files are not considered final deliverables and remain the property of the artist unless otherwise agreed in writing.

This service covers one editorial illustration intended to accompany an article or informative publication only. Magazine or book covers, poster artwork, advertising key visuals, logo design, brand identity, custom lettering, complex typography, animation, multiple illustrations and extended campaign work are not included and require a separate proposal.

RIGHTS AND PORTFOLIO USE:

Ownership of the approved final deliverable transfers to the client upon full payment in accordance with Dribbble’s Project Terms.

Unless confidentiality has been agreed in writing before the project begins, the client grants the artist the non-exclusive right to display the completed artwork in the artist’s portfolio, website and Dribbble profile for professional self-promotion.

Third-party logos, trademarks, copyrighted characters, client-supplied materials or identifiable public figures must be disclosed before the project begins and may only be included when their intended use is legally permitted. The artist reserves the right to refuse potentially infringing material.
